1. Foundation in Music Theory

A would-be musician without musical knowledge is nothing but a skilled typist on his musical instrument. We at MCA don’t aim to create such skilled ‘typists’ but a whole musician who can read, write, understand and compose music. They say, "Give a man a fish, he eats for a day.
Teach a man how to fish, he eats for a lifetime".
Age Range: 7 years and above (no limit)
Date: Friday: 6.30 pm - 7:00 pm

Duration: Once a week for 30 minutes
Eligibility: No previous experience or qualifications is required. These sessions are meant for absolute beginners and are basic stepping stone to all other music courses.
Medium of instruction: English
Learning Outcomes: By the end of this course, a successful student should be able to:
Define and understand the characteristics of music
Aurally identify the basic elements of music, pitch, rhythm and dynamics.
Acquire knowledge about various musical instruments used in Western Classical Music.
Develop an ear to identify them.
Read and write basic musical score on treble clef and bass clef, translate it to own instrument, with basic time signatures and articulation marks used for them.
This course is mandatory for any fresh enrolment, unless they clear an FMT test available Here.

2. Foundation course in Electronic Keyboard
|
40 Sessions

|
|
|
Each sessions of 30 minutes, once in a week will be provided and the classes are for only two students at a time. Electronic or digital keyboard of 61 full size touch sensitive keys with student is mandatory for regular practice. There is no need for the student to carry keyboard to class.
Age Range: 7 years and above (no limit)
Eligibility: Successful completion of FMT course or clear test conducted by MCA.

Medium of instruction: English, music score on stave. Instructions will be provided on a touch sensitive full size key electronic keyboard.
Learning Outcomes: By the end of this course, a successful student should be able to perform about 12 beginners’ pieces with basic understanding and musical awareness. They perform with general security of pitch and rhythm, and with attention given to dynamics and articulation. Perform spontaneously from the written score of simple musical compositions.

3. Early Intermediate course in Keyboard

4. Intermediate course in Keyboard

Eligibility: Successful completion of EINK, EITK or Grade 2 of TCL or equivalent. Assessment by MCA is available in case of no qualification certificate with candidate.
Medium of instruction: Mainly English & music score on stave. Student will be taught Italian, Latin, French and German terms used for performance directions in music. Instructions will be provided on a touch sensitive full size key electronic keyboard.

Eligibility: Successful completion of ICNK or ICTK course or Grade 4 EK of TCL or equivalent. Assessment by MCA is available in case of no qualification certificate with candidate.
Medium of instruction: Mainly English & music score on stave. Student will be taught Italian, Latin, French and German term used for performance directions in music. Instructions will be provided on a touch sensitive full size key electronic keyboard.

Each sessions of 30 minutes, once in a week will be provided and the classes are of one to one and personalized in nature (1 students at a time). Weighted key keyboard, Electric, Digital or acoustic piano with student is mandatory for regular practice.
Age Range: 7 years and above (no limit)
Eligibility: Successful completion of HIP course or Grade 4 Piano of TCL or equivalent. Assessment by MCA is available in case of no qualification certificate with candidate.
Medium of instruction: Mainly English & music score on stave. Student will be taught Italian, Latin, French and German term used for performance directions in music. Instructions will be provided on a acoustic piano during the solo sessions.

Each sessions of 45 minutes, once in a week will be provided and the classes are of one to one and personalized in nature (1 students at a time). Weighted key keyboard, Electric, Digital or acoustic piano with student is mandatory for regular practice.
Age Range: 7 years and above (no limit)
Eligibility: Assessment by MCA, Grade 8 in Piano from TCL or equivalent.
Medium of instruction: Mainly English & music score on stave. Student will be taught Italian, Latin, French and German term used for performance directions in music. Instructions will be provided on a acoustic piano during the solo sessions.
